The production of stainless steel plates adopts the cold rolling mill process, in which cold-rolled stainless steel is mainly produced by the rolling method. Plate rolling is suitable for the mass production of thicker steel plates or the trial production of new steel grades.
 
The production process of cold-rolled stainless steel strips includes heat treatment, pickling, grinding, leveling, cross-cutting, sorting, cleaning, and packaging.

To achieve efficient and high-precision rolling, a cold cluster mill with good rigidity is used. Multi-roll cold rolling mills generally adopt a single-machine reversible rolling method. To improve the yield rate, lead strips are welded at both ends of the stainless steel strip before rolling, and the lead strip part is not rolled. Stainless steel strips need to be annealed before cold rolling, during cold rolling, and after the finished rolling. Cold-rolled stainless steel strips have strict requirements on surface quality, and some elimination and protection measures need to be taken, such as annealing, pickling, degreasing, etc. The finishing requirements of stainless steel strips are relatively special, and a strong straightening machine is required for straightening. Different straightening methods are used according to the products of different thicknesses.

 

The production processes of cold-rolled stainless steel strips include the type of cold rolling mill, friction coefficient, front and rear tension, rolling speed, and rollers. The type of cold rolling machine requires the use of a rolling mill with greater rigidity, and a cold cluster mill has more advantages than a 4 hi cold rolling mill. By using rolling lubricants to reduce the friction coefficient of the contact surface between the roller and the steel strip, and cooling the rollers and steel strips, the overall friction coefficient of the production line can be effectively reduced. The front and rear tensions affect the rolling pressure, and cold-rolled stainless steel strips require greater tension. Changes in rolling speed will affect the friction coefficient between the roller and the steel strip, and affect the rolling pressure and the thickness of the steel strip. The rollers need to have high hardness, strength, and wear resistance, and also have a certain toughness. The reduction system includes the adjustment of rolling passes, reduction amount, and rolling process, which is determined according to the characteristics of the rolling mill and product requirements.

Plate shape control It can mainly roll out strip steel with uniform transverse thickness and flat plate shape, which is achieved by adjusting the shape of the roller gap. Whether the thickness control is good or not depends on whether the cold rolling precision is high or not, which is mainly achieved through automatic thickness control devices.
